Boonson secured his spot by winning his qualifying heat in a swift 9.95 seconds at Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium in Japan, demonstrating his strong potential in the competition.
In the women’s 100m event, Thailand saw further success as Jirapat Khanonta triumphed in her heat with a personal-best time of 11.45 seconds, ensuring her place in the semi-finals. Sukanda Petraksa, another Thai contender, also advanced by finishing third in her heat, clocking in at 11.54 seconds.
The semi-finals for the women’s 100m are set for September 25, with the men’s semi-finals scheduled to follow later the same day. These advancements mark a significant achievement for the Thai athletes, highlighting their competitive edge on the Asian stage.
