Vietnam and France have reiterated their dedication to enhancing their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership by deepening cooperation across various sectors, including diplomacy, trade, defense, energy, technology, and infrastructure. During discussions held in Hanoi, officials from both nations reviewed the progress of their bilateral relations and reached a consensus to expedite the execution of their partnership action plan.
The Vietnamese delegation emphasized the need for increased collaboration with France in areas such as defense, cybersecurity, nuclear energy, science and technology, critical minerals, and major infrastructure initiatives. Furthermore, Vietnam urged France to facilitate the ratification process of the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and to continue supporting efforts to lift the European Union’s “yellow card” on Vietnamese seafood exports.
France, on its part, acknowledged Vietnam as a significant strategic ally in the Asia-Pacific region. The French representatives expressed a keen interest in expanding cooperation in several domains, including nuclear energy, rare earths, satellite technology, transportation infrastructure, healthcare, and cultural exchanges. This reflects France’s recognition of the importance of Vietnam as a partner in these key areas.
Both countries committed to enhancing their coordination on regional and global matters, underlining their mutual support for multilateralism, dialogue, and sustainable development. This commitment indicates a shared vision for addressing broader international challenges and fostering a cooperative international environment.
