Vietnam, in collaboration with other economies in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), is intensifying efforts to aid micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in their journey towards digital transformation. A key focus is on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance productivity and bolster competitiveness in the region.
During a recent APEC workshop held in Hanoi, Vietnamese officials underscored the significance of technology transfer, digital skills development, and innovation as vital support mechanisms for MSMEs. The gathering featured representatives from various APEC member economies, international organizations, and leading technology firms. Discussions were centered on AI implementation, the development of digital infrastructure, financial access for enterprises, and strategies to bridge the digital divide.
The workshop also plays a crucial role in Vietnam’s preparations to host the APEC summit in 2027. Participants are expected to formulate policy recommendations that advocate for the responsible use of AI and seek to enhance digital economic cooperation across the region.
