The 14th Party Central Committee of Vietnam commenced its third session in Hà Nội, led by the Party General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm. The five-day meeting is set to address the implementation of resolutions from the 14th National Party Congress, with a strong focus on enhancing Party governance, reforming the political system, and propelling national development forward.
During the session, 13 critical policy areas are under review. These include advancements in State governance, reforms in land laws, economic restructuring initiatives, technology-driven growth strategies, environmental sustainability measures, and national security enhancements. The discussions will also evaluate the performance of the newly established political system and the two-tier model of local administration. Among the proposals is the plan to elevate Quảng Ninh and Bắc Ninh to the status of centrally governed cities.
In his address, Tô Lâm urged for decisions that are practical and action-oriented, aimed at eliminating developmental barriers, unlocking national resources, and improving public service delivery. He stressed the importance of transforming all resolutions into concrete implementation plans, complete with defined responsibilities, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
The committee’s deliberations are particularly significant as they seek to align the country’s strategies with the broader goals of the National Party Congress. The emphasis is on ensuring that the policies are effectively translated into actions that bring about tangible improvements in governance and development.
